Johnny Manziel
Johnny Manziel was the oldest in his family
And I remember he was twenty two
Y’know I can’t quite explain the situation
But he had some bad luck blues
He just wanted to have a little fun
So broke into his father’s truck and stole a gun
Mother running down the highway screaming
Johnny it’s too bad, oh it’s too and it’s bad
Well, his father wonders where he got the money
And he wonders if he got it right or wrong
Then Johnny shot a man in Lubbock, Texas
And he caught a freight train and took off on the run
Well, run, Johnny, run
They’re rolling right behind you
Run, Johnny, run
You know they’re gonna find you
You come out late at night, ’cause you’re running for your life
You son of a gun, Johnny Manziel, Johnny Manziel
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
Well, it’s a shame the way you make your mother worry
And it’s hurts inside to sit and watch her cry
And it will be a long time before she knows the answer
But it won’t be long before she will see you die
Well, I was standing in my front door early this morning
So sad, when I heard my name was said
Johnny Manziel was no good than anybody
But I hate to see him throw his life away
Now, run, Johnny, run
They’re rolling right behind you
Run, Johnny, run
You know the will find you
You come out late at night, ’cause you’re running for your life
You son of a gun, Johnny Manziel, Johnny Manziel
Found him holed up in some dark and dirty building
Heard his mother begging, “Please, let Johnny go!”
That’s when John fired his pistol
As a warning and he said, mom I want to have some fun
“I was born to die by the gun”
“I was born to die by the gun”
“I was born to die by the gun”
Now, run, Johnny, run
They’re rolling right behind you
Run, Johnny, run
You know the will find you

Please find a woman or drink some alcohol

Meredith and Emily (E no slide January 13, 2016)
I had a dream that you love and kissed me
I had a dream that you love and kissed me
But when I woke up you did not care for me
I had a dream Meredith and Emily had my back
I had a dream Meredith and Emily had my back
In real life they don’t and they want to attack
I thought you said I was cool
I thought you said I was cool
But you played my life like I was as a damn good fool
In the dream all there was is happiness
In the dream all there was is happiness
When I awoke I was in a bed of loneliness
I know Meredith and Emily are beautiful
I know Meredith and Emily are beautiful
I hope they see me as a man with fun rules
Meredith and Emily are what my dream was about
Meredith and Emily are what my dream was about
I hope they know this song is fun without a doubt
I wonder how both women will react
I wonder how both women will react
I hope it is fun and not an attack

I at least have writing, theatre, painting, dance, and music to adore
Art helps me understand why life is the way it is

It helps me explain what the next step in my journey is
Since people don’t care for me I talk to people who don’t judge me

I talk to people who are wise and who are elderly
I try to treat strangers as my friends too

Will You Go to the Wedding With Me (Will The Circle)
I was holding Brandon’s hand
On a hot and summer day
When the bride came walkin’
Down the aisle to take her father away
Will You Go to the Wedding With Me
By and by Lord, by and by
I love Brandon and all he brings
To the wedding yes that wedding in the sky
Well, I told Brandon how much I love him
He confessed his love back to me
I was so happy I jumped up
And said yippee!
Will You Go to the Wedding With Me
By and by Lord, by and by
I love Brandon and all he brings
To the wedding yes that wedding in the sky
Now we walked down a path in the woods
Hopin’ to see the other smile
Then he turned and kissed me
Man he waited a while
Will You Go to the Wedding With Me
By and by Lord, by and by
I love Brandon and all he brings
To the wedding yes that wedding in the sky
(Guitar Break)
Down by the river Brandon kissed me man is was nice
I loved him forever as he took a gamble on ice
Now my life is really great and I have a hot boyfriend and a song
I love Brandon, Brandon Stroble that is who I will belong
Will You Go to the Wedding With Me
By and by Lord, by and by
I love Brandon and all he brings
To the wedding yes that wedding in the sky

I love Brandon and all he brings
To the wedding yes that wedding in the sky
(Guitar Break)

Orlando Massacre (Open E June 13, 2016)
On June 12, 2016, a massacre occurred in Orlando
People do not understand why such would occur
Well the mayor of Orlando had to infer
50 dead 53 wounded why does it take something like this
It should not have to but it is the Islamic State
It all happened at a gay bar and people were having fun
And in walked a gun man who looked at ISIS for the run
He walked in and shot everybody he could
103 shots and his mission was don good
Orlando Orlando my solidarity goes out to you
Orlando Orlando my solidarity goes out to you
I hope you survive such a massacre through and through
All I want is for change to be made in politics
All I want is for change to be made in politics
Why are people hard in times like this
Our Congress won’t budge and neither will some people
We are stuck hear in a standoff against what is real
Nobody want to tell the truth and help out or heal
The struggle is real and hard, but it won’t go away
We have the people on Wall Street telling us what to say
Obama, Biden, and Ryan need the U.S. not fade, but stay
Mayor Buddy Dyer of Orlando said the families of 26 victims had been notified
Buddy Dyer you need to figure out how to try harder
I hope the U.S. congress can help us with peace today
God help us as these are hard times
What did the U.S. do to deserve these fines
Help us Obama or there will be more terrible crimes
Orlando Orlando it is such a black day
I hope this songs helps out your community today
I bless all of you for your strength and community all day
Politics Blues (Open E June 13, 2016)
People get so stubborn about political issues
They think they are always right and have nothing else to choose
Can’t we figure out something else to do?
I want to help all of these communities but the government does not know how
I’m stuck like an animal listening to the president’s call
Help us out with what to do for all
I wish political leaders would be civil like Cale and I
I wish political leaders would be civil like Cale and I
Congress would be hopeful for change and not another sigh
Help us world to understand my game
Help the world to understand my game
It is simple have an open my and stop calling people names
It’s almost like the government is like a bunch of wild geese
They don’t listen and do what they want the least
Then they wonder why political fire will never cease
I hope we figure this out quickly as the U.S. needs to stop
We have nothing to do but watch in horror a lot
If nothing is done be all be gone like a drop
People need to think and have an open mind
This will progress us to a new mind
We will now live in a new world under a sign
I love our country but need to learn to help each other
Just know that we need to progress farther
Help out with guns but do not use fire

Charlottesville couldn’t hold her, so she wanted Fredericksburg
I’m starting to get nervous, worried, and wondering about her
She said I’ll meet you in D.C, she headed north on 95
She said I’ll meet you in D.C, she headed north on 95
I’m worried she has another man ready to jive
(Guitar Solo)
I found out I missed her as she took a train to New York
I found out I missed her as she took a train to New York
There is this guy traveling with her and he has nice torque
I’m headed back to Farmville, headed back home to stay
I’m headed back to Farmville, headed back home to stay
Sometimes when you hurt make you find a better way
I’m headed back to Farmville sad, but a wiser man today
I’m headed back to Farmville sad, but a wiser man today
Sometimes when you hurt make you find a better way
Make you find a better way
A better way
A better way Hey!

Mass Shooting Blues
The NRA said one thing, the government said it ain’t true
They are fighting amongst themselves at expense of what we do
If I did my job the way those morons do theirs
I’d be fired from my job with nothing to spare
NRA lies government does too, but mass shootings must stop soon
We got children killing children with guns and dope
We see people die in little candle light hope
How many more children must I see die
Before I called the NRA and government a lie
NRA lies government does too, but mass shootings must stop soon
We got adults killing adults with guns and knives
We keep seeing crying and sadness inside
How many more civilians must I see die
Everyday in the news is sad inside
NRA lies government does too, but mass shootings must stop soon
(Guitar Solo)
Now I listen to these politicians and the blame the NRA
I listen to the NRA, they have nothing to say
How many more people are going to have to pay
Before politicians listens and the NRA has to pray
NRA lies government does too, but mass shootings must stop soon
Nervous Breakdown Blues
I thought I didn’t do my job the right way
I thought I didn’t do my job the right way
It was rough and I thought it was a hard day
I compare myself to others, but I see myself I the wrong
I compare myself to others, but I see myself I the wrong
I was tense, nervous, and I wrote this song
The blues helped me get through the low point
The blues helped me get through the low point
I kept my guitar and played in a juke joint
(Guitar Break)
I have to thank Jason Faulk for his help and support
I have to thank Jason Faulk for his help and support
He got me out of my funk with his counselling sort
Thank you blues for always having my back
Thank you blues for always having my back
You keep me in line and on the right track
My mind is rambling and it never seems to stop
My mind is rambling and it never seems to stop
That’s the mark of a blues man and a man with a good job
Mid-Term Election Blues
Mid-term elections come and go
Mid-term elections come and go
What has change and what can be show
Mid-term elections they are back
Mid-term elections they are back
All I see is people under attack
Mid-term elections are the worst
Mid-term elections are the worst
They elect incumbents and not people first
Mid-term elections are the best
Mid-term elections are the best
It is all about the money and we get all stressed
Mid-term elections they are true
Mid-term elections they are true
Everyone voting has the blues
Mid-term elections come and go
Mid-term elections come and go
So do the people in Syria, Iraq, and Tokoyo
Down Talman’s On Farm
Come you ladies and gentlemen and listen to my song
I’ll sing it to you right, though you might think it’s wrong
May make you glad, but I mean no harm
It’s all about the workers on Talman’s farm
Work man in the country
Down on Talman’s farm
Well it’s work man in the country
Down on Talman’s farm
(Banjo)
Now you move out on Talman’s farm
Plant a little crop of knowledge and a little of charm
She’s come around to see you, gonna laugh a lot
Till you get yourself a support on everything you got
Work man in the country
Down on Talman’s farm
Well it’s work man in the country
Down on Talman’s farm
Now there’s old Calla Talman, she’ll come into town
With a wagon-load of support and all of it sound
She’s got to have our back or somebody’s work
She gives you a talk and is as soft as a church
Work man in the country
Down on Talman’s farm
Well it’s work man in the country
Down on Talman’s farm
(Banjo Solo)
But Calla Talman’s workers, they’ll come into town
With their hands in gloves and their head’s looking around
Go in the store and the workers will say
“You’re working with Mrs. Talman and she gives good pay”
Work man in the country
Down on Talman’s farm
Well it’s work man in the country
Down on Talman’s farm
Then down in his pocket with a strong ole hand
I can pay it all, but I’ll pay you when I can”
Then down to the telephone, the worker makes a call
They’ll put you with Mrs. Talman and you don’t pay it all
Work man in the country
Down on Talman’s farm
Well it’s work man in the country
Down on Talman’s farm
Hey Mrs. Talman
Hey Mrs. Talman
(Hey Mrs. Talman)
Hey keep it plannin’
(Hey keep it plannin’
Mrs. Talman Mrs. Talman where you been
Down at my house with Madison
Mrs. Talman Mrs. Talman have you heard?
My gold ole friend has a brand-new word
I heard him say he could really speak
He bought a nice guitar as an antique
Hey Mrs. Talman
(Hey Mrs. Talman)
Hey Mrs. Talman
(Hey Mrs. Talman)
Mrs. Talman Mrs. Talman don’t you say
You give the best support in any kind of way
(Guitar Solo)
Hey Mrs. Talman
(Hey Mrs. Talman)
Hey keep it plannin’
(Hey keep it plannin’)
Nathan Nathan have you heard
Morgan’s gonna buy me a mocking bird
And if that mocking bird can’t sing
Morgan’s gonna buy you a diamond ring
If that diamond ring don’t shine
I’m gonna take it to a private eye
(Guitar Solo)
Hey Mrs. Talman
(Hey Mrs. Talman)
Hey Mrs. Talman
(Hey Mrs. Talman)
Hey keep it plannin’
(Hey keep it plannin’)
Mrs. Talman Mrs. Talman where you been
Down at my house with Madison
My nice daughter is being good again
And if she call me I’ll come right then
Hey Mrs. Talman
(Hey Mrs. Talman)
Hey keep it plannin’
(Hey keep it plannin’)
Government Shutdown Blues (January 17, 2019)
The President said one thing, and Congress said it ain’t true
They are fighting amongst themselves at expense of me you
If I did my job the way those fools do theirs
I’d be fired from my job with nothing in my life to spare
Government shutdown is true, but at the expense of what workers do
We got workers without pay and calling in sick
We see people lose money at the expense of this little trick
How many more workers must not get pay
Before I see the government has no more say
Government shutdown is true, but at the expense of what workers do
(Guitar Solo)
800,000 live pay check to pay check
How does it take before we say what the heck
How many more civilians must I see cry
Before I stand up and renounce these lies
Government shutdown is true, but at the expense of what workers do
(Guitar Solo)
Now I listen to these politicians and the blame each other
I listen to the news, and they have no cover
How many more people are going to have to pay
Before politicians listen to listen to what the people say
Government shutdown is true, but at the expense of what workers do
Photo Man Blues (January 17, 2019)
I don’t have a photo on the university website
I don’t have a photo on the university website
They want my cowboy hat out of sight
My dad says I’m too ugly to be on a site
My dad says I’m too ugly to be on a site
I don’t want to give people good old fright
I laugh and laugh all day and all night
I laugh and laugh all day and all night
It’s funny to see me in this light
(Guitar Solo)
I said I ain’t good lookin’ and I don’t dress fine
I said I ain’t good lookin’ and I don’t dress fine
But the phone man ain’t committed no crime
I play the blues for people to see my face
I play the blues for people to see my face
It’s okay I’m not on there it gives for a little more space
This little song is not to sad, it is a funny song that I had
This little song is not to sad, it is a funny song that I had
I got the phot man blues and this ain’t so bad
Racist Ralph (February 17, 2019)
Lord I wonder, yes I wonder
Do Ralph Northam think and act
Oh, I wonder lord I wonder
Do Ralph Northam think and act
Now I wonder, Lord I wonder
Will he resign based on this fact
Yes, it was really racist
Just can`t stand it no more
Yes, it was really racist
Just can`t stand it no more
Now I ain`t got no governor
Have no place to go
(Guitar)
When he did this it was 1984
Just can`t take it no more
When he did this it was 1984
Just can`t take it no more
Now I ain`t got no governor
Have no place to go
I think he saw in the picture
He said it was somebody else
I think he saw picture
He said it was somebody else
Now if he don`t resign really soon
I think I`m of leavin’ Virginia by myself
